Halloween 2008

Finally! Pictures of Halloween!
Here's a quick synopsis of the week.
Reegan was invited to her first "Big Kid" Halloween party at a friends house. There must have been 50+ ghouls and goblins running around that night.
Our school held a pumpkin carving contest and each girl chose to enter. Kevin was out of town so the idea of carving 3 was daunting... thus, Brynn's pumpkin was adorned with a foam sticker "Pirate" kit!
Thank you Gigi and Boppa for the wonderful holiday books and fun dress-up hats. They are enjoying them all..... the chocolates however didn't quite make the trek! The poor things looked like melted glob of goo which had then re hardened into some very unusual shapes by the time they made it from Seattle to Scottsdale!
Kevin is chiming in and sums up Halloween night this way.... 93 degrees, block party with wonderful people and food, walking in the dark (no street lights around) with amazing stars, shorts, t-shirts and cooler on wheels in tow!!!! We trick or treated with new friends the Besse family (they had the cooler). After about an hour and a half we called it good and went home so that the girls (5) could spread out all of their treasures!!!! What a fun night!

Anasazi Elementary Fall Carnival 10-24-08

What a crazy night. I didn't even get decent pictures! I was in charge of 25 booths that parents put on for each classroom 1st - 5th. We had "carnival" themed games, lots of carnival food, a DJ and tons of bouncy houses, plus 2 huge rock climbing walls. I started out at the school at 8:30 am and got home about 10:00 PM (took a half hour break to take a much needed shower!) Thank goodness Kevin had Dad patrol! The kids had a really fun night and I was sooo glad to have the event done. Man did I feel old the next morning..... places hurt where I didn't even knew they existed! But all in all it was well worth all of the work! Note Brynn's T-shirt. I put together an All School T-shirt art contest. The winning artist's work was then place onto our Anasazi Spirit T-shirts for 2008-2009. Each grade level has a different color. When all was said and done, every child had a T-shirt!!! That means that Kevin and I bundled close to 1000 shirts and distributed them to the classes. I am now working on a second order! I think they really came out cute and everyone really seems to like them. Not sure if I want to take on this huge task again next year.....

Day at Schnepf farms 10-18-08

Took the kids to Schnepf farms down in Queen Creek. It's one of those "annual" events around here where you can go and pick pumpkins, ride rides, eat lots of garbage foods. The kids had a lot of fun. Quite a drive though..... South about 40 minutes.

Reegan for ASB Student Body Treasurer!!!!

Reegan decided that she wanted to run for ASB Treasurer. She gave her first speech in front of her class during the primary elections along with four other kids that were running for the same position. Ballots were handed out and Reegan won by a "landslide" (per her teacher).
On Thursday 9-25-08 she then gave her speech once again in front of the entire 4th and 5th graders in the cafeteria.... in front of a podium.... microphone and all. There must have been 300+ kids watching! We got it on video but unfortunately I have yet to be able to find an upload site that will accept such a large file so I can't share it with you at this time. Needless to say she did an AWESOME job! Not sure where she gets such pose and confidence! After the speeches were done the kids headed back to class to vote for the finalists. On Friday morning it was announced that REEGAN COLEMAN was to be the next ABS Treasurer for the 2008-2009 student body. She couldn't have been more excited! Congrats Reegan. We are so very proud of you!

Why does this feel like Deja-vu?

No new baby LeRoy family (shame on you!!!), not moving back to the beautiful "wet" northwest. We found an opportunity to purchase a Short Sale so we thought we'd try testing the waters on this place for a bit. The market is insanely slow so doubt anything will come of it at this time. But you never know unless you try I guess. Can't wait to hear what rumors are flying Ang! We will keep you posted. Truly crazy.
